Peter is a dynamic leader and brings a wealth of creative skill and experience to any “table”. He has a BA from Saint Mary’s University, where he majored in Geography, specializing in urban planning. Throughout this degree he had the opportunity to explore his interests in industrial arts and engineering design graphics. He went on to develop these creative interests with the completion of a diploma program in 3D art, animation and visualization.
Peter’s 15 year creative career began as an instructor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he began to develop his enthusiastic and creative leadership style. He went on to development of 3D art for e-learning solutions, and from there he moved into an entry level artist position creating models and animation for sports games. This humble beginning cultivated a strong foundation to becoming a well respected and experienced Studio Art Director, overseeing the conceptualization and production of 40 shipped titles on all major platforms including DS, Wii, PSP, PC, Xbox360, PS3, Vita and IOS from AAA to casual. Peter has also been involved in developing non-gaming experiences on Sony’s Wonderbook platform as well as R&D work for a DisneyLand attraction.
Peter is a visionary leader at heart who is motivated to excel in any work environment. One on one, or as part of a larger interdisciplinary team of creative individuals, Peter is, understanding of the elasticity required to build ideas in a creative environment. He excels in being able to consult with and help define the vision for and direction of a project over a wide array of creative challenges. His experience is an invaluable asset.
Peter has experience in identifying and defining proprietary tools for in-house developed engines. He has in depth experience in the organization and execution of large mocap shoots, mocap cleanup and trimming for game integration. Peter’s experience on the production and business side of working with out sourced art and animation is extensive.
Peter has called Nova Scotia home for over 30 years, and values the strong sense of community that comes from living in a rural area. Living in a small community and working in a global community has provided amazing opportunities for his family, and for his continued pursuit of career development. He continues to expand his skill sets and sharpen them through his own model and texture work. He consistently seeks knowledge that will enhance and enrich the quality of work he is able to guide and produce.
