EXPERIENCE

Freelance Grip and Electrician

New York Area – April 2013 – Current

I have been doing freelance grip and electric work on commercials and television shows. I’ve worked with many different crews, and I am familiar with the majority of equipment. I am particularly good with power distribution and keeping staging areas and set organized. I have worked on the Investigation Discovery show “Deadly Affairs,” several music videos, commercials for Almay, Amazon, Belvedere Vodka, and MTV, among other things.

Rental Tech and Freelance Grip and Electric, Available Light of New York

Long Island City, New York — June 2011 – January 2014

My main responsibilities were to organize and maintain the warehouse and equipment. I trained new employees, kept track of the incoming and outgoing rentals, worked on set with clients, and made sure errands were run and supplies were gotten on time. For some time there was no warehouse manager, and I took on many of the managerial responsibilities.

Accomplishments
Spent time working with clients in the sales department
Advanced to highest non managerial position
Created organizational systems for equipment
Trained new employees
Learned invoicing and implemented my own system
Advanced knowledge of specialty lighting equipment

Producer, The Perfect Martini-O (feature film)

Fire Island, New York – Fall 2013-Ongoing

I am producing a semi documentary improvisational feature with several actors that I have known for some time. We are nearly finished production, and are working to get the film into the final stages and completion. I organize a skeleton crew and keep on top of transportation and scheduling. Shooting on Fire Island in the winter has a lot of challenges, but I’ve kept things going so far.

Manager/Coordinator, Hofstra University Film/Video Equipment Room

Hempstead, New York — 2010-2011

I was the student employee in charge of the equipment room for the school of communications. I scheduled who got to “rent” at which times, as well as collected overdue fees. I maintained organization within the equipment room and taught others proper use of equipment.

Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Nightly News – Intern, NBCUniversal

New York, New York — Fall 2010

I was the intern in charge of answering phones and assisting in the daily needs of the Executive Producer and her secretary. I made travel arrangements, scheduled interdepartmental meetings, and transcribed messages. While I was there, I also worked on the blog for the Today show. I took pictures and video interviews of the audience on the plaza to document each morning’s crowd. I edited the interviews and used their publishing software to edit and post blog entries.
