My name is Ian Preston Cinnamon. For the last 10 years I’ve acted as an independent & commercial filmmaker , I obtained my BFA in Cinema in 2003.
I am talented, innovative, and productive with advanced skills and a strong creative flair. I am highly adept in all aspects of television and film production. One of my many gifts is the ability to conceptualize new and exciting ideas. For the past decade, I have operated in a myriad of capacities utilizing multiple skills for small and large production companies, including, but not limited to directing , assistant directing , DOP , writing and producing , sound engineering , etc. for niche entertainment, international commercials (Germany) metropolitan public service announcements, and industrials for private corporations.
I have received numerous award nominations for films I have written, directed, produced, edited, and scored. I know I am a good production resource as I have experience in all aspects of media production from client acquisitions to creative development and postproduction.
I confidently perform a wide array of motion picture, television, and photography duties and willingly accept increasingly difficult responsibilities. Additionally, I am comfortable working in multiple positions in the media production process. I enthusiastically work on small and large production projects, and I am an efficient and effective individual worker and team player.
I have a positive attitude and outlook as I face challenges. I enjoy media production processes and as well as resolving potential production delays that accompany creating motion pictures, television, and photographic imagery. I have exceptional experience with arranging and coordinating production projects, including, project development, crew hiring , negotiations and location scouting. In addition to a strong work ethic, I possess outstanding communication skills by seeking guidance, when necessary, from team players and as well my supervisors and managers to ensure excellent work products.

Served as writer, director, camera operator, and producer for various projects ranging from documentaries, dramatic narratives, and public service announcements. Assisted with creating an orientation corporate branding video for Siemens (Germany).
2004 Morning Star Entertainment
Assisted in all production set-up activities, including on-site production coordination and proved unit photography for productions.
2002 – 2003 Governor’s Office of Emergency Services
Assisted with augmenting and updating visual resource media materials including slides, video tapes, and interactive DVDs. Performed layout and typography design for Office of Emergency Services’ newsletter.
1996 PBS KVIE Channel 6
Worked as a second camera assistant and performed a variety of activities such as camera build-up on location, light placement and modification, transporting camera and lighting gear to and from location. Performed wiring talent for sound duties. Logged and wrote brief descriptions and time-coded video footage.
1994 – 1995 U.S. Navy
Worked in the Weapons Admin Department on board aircraft carrier, USS CVN-74 John C. Stennis performing data entry duties. Studied and trained in photojournalism in the Navy PH Department.

Possess wide ranging knowledge of film and video projects from inception to completion. Effective at organizing and coordinating photographic and motion picture shoots. Experienced in conducting script analysis and contributed to making script changes and writing and editing scenes’ treatments.
