I’m applying for carpenter and crew with construction experience positions. I ‘m working in the field for 15-20 years . I’m specialized in framing, trim work, drywall, hardwood floor. Besides my specialties I have lots of experience in most other general construction tasks ( basic plumbing, basic electrical, painting, smaller tile work, landscaping etc.). I have the tools that are required
And to answer the question above the box I have to tell you that I haven’t worked on a set for 15 years, so my answer is probably a bit outdated, but judging from that plus my current experience in regular construction , the actual structure building on sets is still based on plywood flats with 2×2 section frames, and lots of Styrofoam. Lots of paint, plaster, make up .
I’m assuming the new type of materials made there way to the film sets as well Like stronger, faster drying adhesives, all sorts of new paints, new parching materials, new kinds of fastening hard wares , all sorts of new and relatively easy to install flooring materials.
I’m guessing the biggest and constantly and quickly developing advancement is the use of very specialized software. Just to be clear i’m not talking about cg imagery, but soft wares for planing , designing a set or any 3 dimensional structure or space basically.,
