I am a film/TV student at Boston University with a minor in Spanish and International Relations, participating in the Boston University LA program in the spring. I am applying to join the crew of Made Modern. With experience ranging from local television stations, as local as BUTV, to learning the production methods of editing with AfterEffects completely in Spanish at a documentary film company in Madrid, I am more than qualified to take on the environment of a crew of this TV show where maybe this time I can learn something in English. From classroom production techniques and courses like sitcom writing and screenwriting, to editing experience all the way across an ocean, my storytelling style has evolved into the nuance that Made Modern is surely looking for.
I have held a number of internships working in the production departments of local television stations such as Brookline Access TV, where I would perform tasks ranging from operating cameras to setting up lights to editing entire episodes of shows to be put on air. I had similar editing duties at a documentary film internship in Madrid, Spain, where I was able to hone in my film production skills and become fluent in Spanish at the same time. My tasks included working with (and learning, completely in Spanish) AfterEffects and Photoshop to edit images and clips of documentaries, which were to be shown in film festivals around the world. I have also taken classes such as screenwriting and, more importantly, sitcom writing, where I was able to create a personal spec script for the series Modern Family from scratch.
I live in Los Angeles and can be reached at [email protected] or (516) 770-4300. I look forward to speaking with you; thank you for the opportunity!
